Matching and Holding the Angle
First, with the Craftsman's Universal Angle Trowel, lightly press down on the section of the blade with the mounting. Then, with finger tips, lightly press down on the section of the blade without the mounting until the angle is matched.
With that position, steadily add pressure to the blade with finger tips. Take care when scraping and smoothing the corner, so as to not scratch or otherwise damage the surface.
About the Angle Adjustment Function
The angle adjustment functionality of the trowel does have a lifespan. With typical handling, the lifespan is approximately 200 uses.
Mishandling or misuse (such as dropping the trowel onto hard surfaces) may lead to large left and right movement, which can decrease the lifespan of the trowel.
